Hopefully you are all keeping well and adjusting to life on lockdown as well as you can. It wasn't too long ago we were all far too busy doing goodness knows what, trying to complete a never ending list of "stuff" to do. Secretly wishing we had more hours in the day to do what was really important to us - slowing down, spending more time with loved ones and not feeling guilty about doing it. Now look at us!
I have been watching social media with interest to see how different businesses have been communicating during the crisis and wondering what it is we should be doing. Some are carrying on like it's business as usual, some are being honest about the negative effects Covid-19 is having on their income & even encouraging clients to continue to spend.
I was a little disappointed to see some of the fallout for this "honesty". It was viewed by some as "opportunistic" & "bad form". Personally I saw it as a strength. Being vulnerable in an open forum and reaching out to a network of friends asking directly for help - it certainly wasn't something that I felt comfortable doing! But go figure, here I am about to do the same thing.
Glamour - like many others - face an uncertain future. We are all doing our best trying to navigate our way through, by blindingly preparing for the tough months ahead and ultimately trying to base decisions on the unknown. What will it look like after we get back to "normal?". No one knows for sure but what we do know is that the new "normal" looks a heck of a lot different than prior to lockdown and we are in for a massive roller coaster ride with no way of knowing how it will all unfold.
In the meantime, we do need your help - and I understand - as do many others. But, here are some ideas that are easy peasy to give our wee business a push in the right direction and I assure you, it will make a massive difference.
Like everyone else at the moment, cash is king. And while you might not be in the mood to shop right now, a great way to help out is to purchase a gift voucher to spend later. Helps with cashflow now and use it later on down the track when things return to "normal".
Share the love on Social ♥︎
Help our brand to stay visible and remind people we are still here. You can do this by sharing one of our posts on Facebook or Instagram or you could share a pic wearing a Glamour blast from the past. It could be a Friday drinks in lockdown outfit - you pick! You could also recommend us to your friends in a post.
If you are in the position of being able to, think about gift buying ahead of time. Birthdays, warmer weather buying (check out our clear out sale for bargains) Heck, could even be Chrissy present stock piling!

Take a few minutes to recommend us where you can and while you have the time. Facebook & Google are great places to start and let others know exactly why you love what we do.
Please share these ideas, as if it's not Glamour today perhaps it might help another small business just like mine. And reach out, I'd love to hear from you - even if it is just to say hi. Perhaps we can inspire each other with business ideas or cross promote our brands on our social channels.
And in the words of Barack Obama - "Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness its a sign of strength. It shows that you have the courage to admit when you don't know something, and to learn something new."
